Choosing the Right Car Paint Colors

January 6th, 2010

If you are decorating, remodeling, or trying to improve the look of your house, choosing the right paint color makes all the difference.  For instance, if you have a modern loook for your home, you should not choose hues which evoke  an ambiance that shouts country style. It is recommended instead that you go for are nice, contrasting colors or single bold color all around.  Cool colors, however, are suitable for people who have small living spaces.

Choosing Cool Colors

When you have a small home, you want to make it seem bigger and create an illusion of space.  This is the reason why people usually choose cool and lighter shades of paint colors for bedrooms.  To create an ultra-relaxing atmosphere in our bedroom, you would want to minimize clutter and have more light enter the bedroom.  This is exactly the reason why lighter colors serve you will when it comes to bedrooms.  In fact, these types of hues look great in all parts of your house.  If you want to create an illusion of space, using colors like a lighter shade of blue, green or purple makes for a great color scheme.

If you do not want to come out too boring or conservative, you can go for monochromatic colors instead. The result is that the color in your home would not be in just one shade, but in various hues of the same cool color. This way, it is possible for you to make your home look bigger by making the home less monotonous.

Be Bold with Warm Colors

Colors which feel warm to the eyes give you just that – an illusion of warmth. It is also an ideal way to make the house feel more vibrant, which is why warm colors are quite popular even as car paint colors. Many colors follow the trend, though, so you might end up repainting anyway as the color begins to get outdated.  However, by choosing your favorite hues, repainting may not be needed at all.  When it comes to selecting car paint colors, you would want a color that is safer if you need to resell it later on.  Perhaps the same thing holds true when choosing the colors to paint your house with.  A neutral color is the safest choice, since many future homeowners may find colors a bit repulsive – something which could limit of potential buyers for your home in the end.

On the other hand, if your main concern when painting your home is your own usage, just go with what seems right for you. You can opt for kitchen paint colors that make the dining area more conducive for family gattherings.  You can always repaint it later on anyway if you want to move out and sell the house. At the end of the day, selecting the right colors for your home, kitchen or car is all a matter of deciding which hues feel right for you.
