Hawaii Vacation Rental – Easier Than a Hotel

April 19th, 2009

When going on vacation, accommodations are always an important consideration. Most of us usually think of a hotel or motel and often a big chain with a familiar name and that’s the end of it, but there is an attractive alternative, even in a tropical paradise. A Hawaii vacation condo may be the very thing you are looking for to make your stay even more enjoyable.

Whether you look at villas or houses, or Hawaii condo rentals, choosing a rental has many things to recommend it. With a Hawaii vacation rental, you have privacy and often quiet you would never have in a hotel or motel. You don’t have to worry about staff coming in and out of your room and you may feel more relaxed and secure in a more home like setting.

Another perk is the freedom to make some of your meals instead of eating out, which can mean savings that can more than pay for that Hawaii vacation rental. You certainly don’t have to chain yourself to the kitchen and do all the cooking, but it’s more convenient as well as cheaper to fix a bowl of cereal and brew a cup of great Kona coffee in your bathrobe than it is to dress and go to the restaurant. You don’t have to worry about what time the dining room closes either.

While some hotel rooms may have kitchenettes, a rental will almost always have a full size and fully equipped kitchen and be more versatile. Eating on a private balcony or around a familiar dining table can also feel more “homey” and help you relax. A rental may also be much more luxurious than a hotel would be for the same amount per day.

For long stays or visits of just a few days, Hawaii vacation rentals can be found. You can do a search on the internet or use a good travel agent to help find these properties with relative ease. You can also pick and choose locations. If, for example, a Kauai vacation rental comes with a great price or special offer, you might decide this is the island you want to visit!

The slight negative to having a Hawaiian vacation rental is that it requires some work which would normally be included in a hotel stay. Some light cleaning, cooking, and making your own bed is a tiny inconvenience when you compare the comfort of being in an actual home compared to a commercial bedroom among many other rooms. A rental can actually be more relaxing and peaceful, and more memories to the vacation. You won’t even miss room service, since you can order pizza in Hawaii just like at home!
