New Car Releases 2009-2010
It’s that time again and doesn’t it come round quickly! The time for new registrations is almost here again with the release of some fresh metal on the streets from Honda and Mercedes.
Ford has launched two models, the Fiesta and the Ka to and first glance has had some excellent feedback from customers and car experts. The new ford fiesta has a lot to gain and it’s been carefully designed to succeed It’s lighter, yet stiffer, greener and cheaper to run. It’s also safer and better to drive even than the Mazda2 supermini with which it shares a common platform. This car represents Ford’s future – in more ways than one.
The Ford Ka 2nd generation has some subtle changes. There’s a more efficient petrol engine on offer, plus a diesel for the first time. Both the new Fiesta and Ka further erode the once perceived image of a cheap new car from Ford.
Challenging Toyota’s break into the hybrid sales is Honda with its new Insight model. Will enough people choose its 64mpg and 101g/km emissions over the greater performance and fun of a more conventional model? Much will depend on whether we can come round to the Insight’s way of thinking.
In the prestige market, the Mercedes E-Class looks stronger than ever in its latest guise. The design is as conservative as you’d expect from Mercedes but that’s likely to make the product all the more popular with its traditional customers.
This time around however, the Mercedes E-Class is looking like a more dynamic image than its the previous model and the Coupe version can only help in this regard. Packed with technology and employing some of the most advanced engines in the Mercedes range, the Coupe also offers a sporty suspension set-up and some sleek styling.
