NTT America and Riverbed Deliver Enhanced Managed WAN Performance Acceleration Services

NTT America, a wholly owned U.S.subsidiary of NTT Communications Corporation, and Riverbed Technology(NASDAQ: RVBD), the technology and market leader in WAN optimization, today announced that NTT America is offering its new Managed WPA (WAN Performance Accelerator) service to regional and global businesses. The new offeringis based on Riverbed® award-winning flagship products, Steelhead® appliances, and will provide NTT America’s customers with WAN acceleration that reduces costs and simplifies IT infrastructure.

NTT America’s Managed WPA service provides multi-national and regional businesses with LAN-like access to data and applications for users inbranch offices, regardless of their location. The service performance enables cost savings through reductions in both opex and capex, asenterprises are able to optimize their bandwidth usage while consolidating their IT infrastructure and reducing IT complexity and overhead. In addition, the managed service acceleration helps ensure business continuity through improved backup and replication processes, and it also improves staff productivity and real-time collaboration.

As part of its commitment to providing a one-stop-shop, NTT America hasbuilt a comprehensive set of services within the Managed WPA service package. NTT America engineers perform needs assessments and create network designs based on the Riverbed solutions; then they provide project management and install and test the Steelhead appliances. Following implementation, NTT America provides full maintenance and support, including 24×7 remote and proactive monitoring and troubleshooting of bothWPA and the network.
